- W4, "How to be an e-teacher" is almost ready and will go live the end of October. A stand alone version will also be placed on the portal for download.
The project developer/designer has been collaborating with Inuit Elders and Educators to ensure Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principles provide the framework for this ground breaking work.
We realize other Inuit regions may use different terminology. Upon completion of the workshops, we encourage our associates to to adjust the language and references to suit their specific needs.
- Pilot #2 will take place in Arctic Bay (Nov 3 - 6) with Arctic College students and staff completing W1, W2 and W4 respectively. We are especially excited that Mr. Ron Elliott, MLA for Quttiktuq and a former adult educator in Arctic Bay will participate in the pilot.
- Pilot #3 will take place in Nain, Nunatsiavut with staff from the Torngâsok Cultural Centre and ABE students.
- Our researcher, Dr. Elizabeth Childs has completed an e-learning literature review and is now waiting for pilot data to begin the action research.
- Quarterly Meetings using Elluminate: The Project Team met in early October. The Advisory Committee will meet mid-November.
- A discussion paper framing the project has been placed on the portal. A version of this paper will be presented at an international conference in January.
- The Inuktitut and English language posters have been printed. Inuinnaqtun and French versions will follow shortly.
- What would social networking be without micro-blogging. You can follow what's happening through our Twitter RSS feed. We also have a Bebo page and YouTube channel. Facebook will appear soon.
- And last, but not least - we really miss Co-Lead Gwen Frankton who has officially retired from the GN. There was a reported sighting of Gwen in Iqaluit - so we know she is still keeping an eye on things. Enjoy Gwen, but we really miss you!
